Origami Gallery
This unique series of designs has been inspired by origami, the Japanese art of paper folding.
Attracted to origami for its clean geometric forms, Emma sought to imitate the delicate paper folds in a wearable metal form. After a year of development, the "Origami Box Ring Series" and "Origami Box Brooch Series" emerged.
The idea of square shaped rings isn't as strange as it may seem! The designs are flat between the fingers and therefore just as comfortable as, if not more comfortable than a round ring. Most people are pleasantly surprised at how comfortable they feel when they try an Origami Box Ring on.
The forms are not literally folded, but constructed from solid sterling silver to emulate origami folds
In 2008 Emma won the National Contemporary Jewellery Award 2008 for her Origami Box Ring design.
